Editorial independence
Reviews, scores, comparison winners, and recommendations are decided by the editorial team based on the relevant research and, where documented, first-hand testing evidence. Affiliate program participation, commission rates, and vendor relationships have no input into any of those decisions.
Our scoring data is separate from affiliate and commission records. The scoring calculation does not use commission fields, and the affiliate-link update action does not change editorial scores or article content.
How articles are produced
Every published article has a named credited author, who is responsible for its content and its evidence. Reviews additionally have a named reviewer who performs the scoring against the applicable methodology. Complex or high-stakes articles have a named fact-checker in addition to the reviewer.
AI tools are used in our workflow — for research, outlining, and drafting — but every published paragraph is edited, verified, and stands or falls on the credited author's judgment. We do not publish machine-generated articles.
How we handle vendor relationships
We accept product access — free trials, extended trial windows, or a paid seat comped by the vendor — to make thorough testing possible. Access does not entitle a vendor to see the review before publication, to have negative findings removed, or to influence its score.
We do not accept payment for a review, for a comparison winner, for coverage, or for placement. Sponsored content, if we ever publish any, will be labeled sponsored, kept structurally separate from editorial content, and excluded from any "best of" or comparison ranking.
Sources and attribution
External facts cited in articles link to supporting sources, preferring primary information and attributing reputable third-party reporting when used. When we quote or paraphrase another publication, we cite and link to it. When we reuse our own testing observations across multiple articles, that is disclosed on each article that draws from it.
